Drive – S6E1
After his post-Medellin difficulties, Vince is on the fast track once again, as he prepares for a driving test as well as an appearance with Jay Leno to promote his new movie Gatsby, directed by Martin Scorsese.
Meanwhile, Sloan presents Eric with the idea of getting his own place, but worries about how it will affect his friends. Lloyd threatens to quit if Ari doesn’t promote him, so Ari counters with a proposition of his own.

I just watched season 5 on dvd, and having a few days to mull it over, I actually think I’m starting to hate the show. Before I proceed, let me point out that I realize how ridiculous it sounds for a man to watch every episode of a show he hates, and then wastes more of his time complaining about a show he hates on the internet. Yet, I can’t stop myself. Let me explain why I’ve turned on this once great show.
Drama has been reduced to a cartoon character. How any of the crew can even stand to be around him is a mystery. How many meltdowns can this guy have? His meltdowns have been a plot device for too many episodes as is. It really has become the most unrealistic part of the show. And what about Five Towns? It’s always in hiatus, conveniently leaving him free to bum around with the other cronies. Rather than fleshing it out in any way at all, it’s occasionally referenced.
Ehh I do see alot of your points and ya know you are right about alot of it. But it is a TV show for one, and I mean some of the things you are complaining about like the Ari and E back and forth fighting and Drama having all this money and rarely works and being a character like he is haha are what I love about the show.
A few things I think you are not correct about are Eric becoming dull. I think he just has new ventures, all his cards arent on Vince now and hes trying to cope with having a few clients to work with. Also, Jason Patric was not supposed to be an A-List actor, Ed Norton was still the lead in Smoke Jumpers, Patric was just another actor in the movie ahead of Vince which is understandable due to the Medellin debacle.
Fame is an up-down thing, Entourage shows that.
i agree with the OP. this last season was unbearable. and a lot of the ‘wit’ that both drama and ari had seemed to disappear.
I really didn’t like seeing drama become a joke of a character. also, vince’s selfishness is getting obnoxious and unrealistic. and let’s not forget “tree trippers”, the single worst episode of the show ever written. yes, even worse than the first Dom story arc.
I want more drama for Drama.
Please pull the rug from under him. There’s no contrast in the group now and it’s starting to get stale. Drama is supposed to be the mirrored reflection of Vince. If Vince is on top, Drama should be in the gutter.
I’m feeling ripped off, because there is so much potential with Drama’s character, and right now he’s just being used to fill in the space between Turtle and E, and call Vince “bro”. Drama is best whenever he’s living up to his nickname. So please kill off tv star John Chase and bring back Drama
No. I hated seeing Drama in the gutter.
thus far this season has been lackluster. i hope it gets better. as for Lloyd, i think Rex had gained weight. i know in season 5 he had put on some pounds. it could be that they added in Rex’ weight loss into a sub-plot
